He Invited Me to His Wedding Novel Chapter 6

He Invited Me to His Wedding Novel Chapter 6 – “Wait… the baby’s gone? Don’t tell me you lost it?”  Her lip curled.

“Even if she didn’t, you think she’s still worth anything after she’s been with Ethan for a decade’ ?”

Andrew’s expression turned glacial.

“I don’t hit women,” he said coldly, “but you’ re really testing the limits of my restraint.”

“You’ll pay for every word that just came out of your mouth.”

He turned and made a single phone call.

Moments later, Grace’ s phone rang.

“Hello? What I’m being fired? On what grounds? I didn’t do anything wrong!”

“What do you mean I offended the heir to Grant Holdings Group? I don’t even know- Wait, hello? Hello?!”

Ethan shot her a warning glare.

“Watch what you say, Grace. This is Mr. Grant.”

Her eyes widened in disbelief.

“You… you’re the heir to Grant Holdings Group?”

Then her expression twisted into shock and outrage.

“If you’ re so rich, why on earth would you marry her? You could have any woman you wanted – why Lily Bennett?”

Andrew’s face darkened further, and Grace finally shut up.

She turned to Ethan, grasping at his arm.

“Ethan, let’s just go back. We can still finish the ceremony.

When he didn’t move, she clutched her stomach dramatically.

“Ethan… my stomach hurts.”

Her voice trembled. “You promised you wouldn’t let me have regrets. Can’t you help me just this once?”

Ethan’s heart softened instantly. He wrapped his arms around her, panic in his voice.

“Grace, are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?”

She shook her head, weakly smiling.

“No… I just want to finish our wedding.”

I couldn’t hold back a bitter laugh.

“Bravo, Grace. Your acting’s getting better by the minute. Though next time, you might want to clutch a little higher your stomach’s not where your heart is.”

I turned to Ethan, my tone cutting.

“Seriously, are you really that blind, or do you just like being lied to?”

“Look at her- flushed cheeks, steady voice, perfect posture. Does that look like someone dying of stomach cancer to you?”

I met his eyes squarely.

“You won’t believe me, but I’ll say it again anyway she’s not sick. Not even close.”

Ethan’s expression froze. He turned to Grace, his voice rising.

“Grace, tell me the truth. Do you – or do you not – or do you not – have cancer?”

Grace hesitated, her eyes darting nervously.

“Of course I do! Why would I lie to you about something like that?”

Andrew calmly pulled out his phone again.

“Get me Grace Miller’s medical records,” he said flatly.

Grace’s face went white as the blood drained from it.

When she realized the lie was crumbling, she clenched her jaw and blurted out.

“Fine! I don’t have cancer, okay?”

Ethan’s entire body stiffened. His eyes went wide with disbelief.

“What did you just say? You’ re not sick?”

“Why would you lie to me, Grace?!”
